The construction of a fabric belt has the fabric edges pulled over the stiffening insert, to butt against each other on the reverse of the belt along a centre line. The edges to butt against each other are formed by folding the material inwards so that the insert and belt fabric form a folded line. The system ensures that the belt fabric is drawn tightly over the stiffening insert, and that the edges cannot fray.
