<p>1535272 Hook fastening K R NIELSEN 10 Jan 1977 [10 Jan 1976] 00937/76 Heading E2A [Also in Division B7] A coupling device for twin vehicle wheels comprises a lug 16 having a bore 17 which is attached, e.g. by welding, to the permanent wheel rim 13 of a vehicle; and a support block 4 for attachment, e.g. by welding, to the rim 11 of an additional wheel for forming twin wheels. The support block carries a pin 15 for engagement in bore 17 and a bracket 5 for an intermediate member 6 of a toggle mechanism 12, the mechanism further comprising an actuating bar 9 and a hook 1 pivoted on member 6 for engagement with lug 16. An eyelet on member 6 and a corresponding eyelet 22 on a bracket 10 of the support 4 is provided for a locking pin. A number, e.g. five, of the coupling devices are evenly distributed around the periphery of the rims.</p> |
