A small motorised whip driving flexible flails of e.g., rubber, nylon, horsehair, etc. may be used to strike the strings of a stringed instrument such as a guitar while the player fingers the chords by hand. The motor speed may be varied by a manual or foot pedal control, to vary the sound intensity due to the force and frequency with which the whips strike the strings. The motor is mounted in line with the whip shaft, being set in a casing with a control switch and a socket for a power input jack. Simpler than an electronic rhythm device, and a more consistent contact with the strings, than by manual strumming is provided.
|
