The retaining device is for attachment to a rigid body which is bar-shaped, for a rod unit running crossways to the rigid body. This is partic. for support of reinforcement components in concrete structures. The device has two clamp pieces forming the location point for the rigid body, and which when the body is enclosed between them are tightenable by screws. The clamping pieces (1, 11) are held together on one side of the location (A) of the rigid body (S) by a screw (21) with a nut (23). On the other side of the location the clamping pieces have coupling points (6, 16) with areas which can be joined to each other.
