The device is a monitor, position signaller or position indicator, and delivers messages depending on presence or absence of information signals at the outputs of several signal pickups. Messages are stored on a recording medium consecutively, separated by pauses. They correspond to different information signals. Output of a reproduction head (30) is connected through a switch contact to a transmission line, and also through a timing circuit (1) to the clock input (28) of a counter (3) with several outputs (A1-An). The latter, controlled by clock pulses deliver consecutively a counter signal. After the end of each reproduced messages the timing circuit (1) produces a pause no longer than the pause between messages on the tape, and then delivers a clock signal to the counter (3) input (28). Each counter output (A1-An) and each output of information pickups (I1-Un) is connected to a first input of an AND circuit (U1-Un), whose outputs are connected to a device operating the switch contact (a).
