In the case of an electrical installation having a rack which is closed on all sides by walls (2, 3, 4) and having push-in units (7) which are inserted in said rack and are provided with a front panel (8), a heat trap under the front panels (8) must be avoided if the rack is installed horizontally. A fan (12) behind a perforation (10) in a side wall (3) in the rack sucks air in through a dust filter (11) and forces it out through ventilation openings in the front panels (8). The direction in which the fan blows is in this case not directed directly at the ventilation openings. Such an installation can be used, for example, for charging batteries of pocket test sets and warning apparatuses, which are plugged into receptacles in the front panels (8) for charging. <IMAGE>
