<p>Casting of steel into intercommunicating moulds through a distribution chamber with pipes leading into the moulds in such a way that near the end they are well below the level of liquid steel inside them, means for measuring the height of the steel level in the moulds and also means for ensuring equal height of metal in each mould by supplementing the hydrostatic pressure built up in the feeding chamber ensuring an active connection with the distribution chamber by increasing its effect by the temporary application of a vacuum to the chamber.</p> |
