The cash desk unit incorporates a conveyor belt table, and a seat for the cashier and cash register. The seat for the cashier (7) is situated directly by the conveyor belt (1) crosswise to its direction of travel, with room for the cashier's legs underneath. To the right of the normal seat position of the cashier (7) is a support plate (10) for a free-standing keyboard (11). On the left hand side of the cashier (7) is a cabinet for a till receipt printer (15). In the leg compartment underneath the conveyor belt (3) is a money drawer (9) which can be pulled out. A price indicator (18) is positioned on a stand, in easily visible position. The cash desk unit is rectangular and has sides, the lengthwise wall (5) of which has an entrace for the cashier. At the discharge end of the conveyor belt (3) is a run-off plate (4) with a window (17) behind which is a data recorder (16) for reading the price tags on the goods. Underneath the support plate (10) is another cupboard (12) for an electronic control (13).
