The seat belt has an anchorage point (3) fixed to the chassis (7) at floor level. The second anchorage point (8) has a lock engaged by locking plate (2) with an eyelet through which the belt (1) is diverted towards the slot (5) in car body column (4). The belt is accommodated in the hollow column and connected with an automatic take-up mechanism (6) fitted in hollow parts of the chassis. The length of the belt between the locking plate and the slot is fitted with sliding stop plate consisting of yokes by which the belt can be clamped using tightening nuts. The tightening is strong enough to resist the pulling force of the automatic take-up mechanism.
