Rigid or semi-rigid sheaths for enclosing pipework lagging etc., are assembled from mouldings comprising split shells made from a reinforced thermosetting moulding material. The sheaths are suitable for enclosing a fitted insulation or to provide a jacket for casting in situ of e.g. foamed polyurethane insulation. They are more readily fabricated than metal (steel) jackets, and do not require paint protection.
