<p>Generator, in form of conventional dynamo, produces a. c. of constant frequency independent of the drive source's speed (revs), and is suitable for aircraft supply systems. The generator is designed to produce a. c. at 400 Hz with a controlled speed (revs) of 12000 rpm. The generator has four active poles and five pole-section groups. The exciter teeth carry an exciting coil forming a pole-section, and the polarity in gps. of neighbouring pole-sections is the same. Gps. of this kind alternate, in the peripheral directions, with gps. having an equal number of pole-sections, but opposite polarity, and comprise an invariable number of magnetic, opposite-facing active pole gps. Programmed, rotary, uniformly progressive rearrangement of the excitation of these pole-gps. forms a magnetic rotary field beating with (or against) the exciter, and penetrating the current generator, such that the sum of the forward, positive, or backward, negative, speed (revs) of this field, relative to the exciter, is equal to the controlled revs. rate.</p> |
