The foundry pattern has a pattern core constructed from a filling body (3, 4a) and an outer shell (1, 2, 4). The outer shell can be of multiple-layer design, i.e. can comprise a base layer (2) and an enveloping layer (4) composed of plastic and chopped glass fibre, and can also have a metal reinforcement (1). The pattern core (1, 2, 3, 4, 4a) is heat treated at 90-110 DEG C and then provided with a cast surface layer (6), whereupon the surface of the pattern is copper-plated or nickel-plated. The heat treatment and the application of the cast surface layer (6) ensure that the pattern obtained remains true to size during the copper-plating or nickel-plating process and also provides high abrasion resistance for a low production outlay. <IMAGE> |
