摘要 1491988 Bowden mechanisms TELEFLEX Inc 3 Sept 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 36267/75 Heading F2K [Also in Divisions E2 and D1] A Bowden type cable, having a core element 18 axially slidably supported in a guide conduit 12, includes snap-in connectors 20, 20<SP>1</SP> or 2011 for connecting the conduit 12 and/or the core 18 to a support structure 30 and control elements (not shown) respectively. As shown, each connector 20, 20<SP>1</SP> or 20<SP>11</SP> is integrally formed with a body portion 26, for attachment to the conduit 12 and/or core 18, and a circular base 50 having a flexible hook-like head 32 projecting therefrom for insertion through and retention in an opening 24 in the support structure 30 or control elements respectively, the circular base 50 being seated in the opening 24 to provide maximum shear load support against shear forces applied to the connector during operation of the cable. The hook-like head 32, extending from the base 50, consists of a downwardly extending leg 42 which at the bottom is curved through a semi-circle to form an upwardly extending further, and flexible, leg 44 separated from the first leg 42 and the base 50 by a shaped slot 38, 40, the legs 42, 44 being formed with part-conical surfaces 48 which spring-lock to the under surface of the support structure 30 when the connector 20 is pushed into i.e. snapped in position in the opening 24. The three forms of the connectors 20, 20<SP>1</SP> and 2011 differ only in the manner in which they are attached to the conduit 12 and the core element 18, the connector 20 being snapped into releasable engagement with the conduit 12 by a pair of flexible arms 52 integral with the body 26, whilst, the connector 20<SP>1</SP> is slidably positioned on the core element 18 by a metallic slug 22 welded or otherwise secured to the core element 18. The alternative connector 20<SP>11</SP> is moulded about an irregularity in the core element 18 for retention thereon. End fittings or connectors 14, 16 on the conduit 12 may also be formed as the connectors 20.
