1462482 Bending cutters; making fasteners and hinges NEFAB PLYWOODEMBALLAGE AB 9 Jan 1974 [10 Jan 1973] 01022/74 Headings B3W and B3A Securing tabs 3a, 3b are stamped from sheet metal by co-operation of parallel edges 14, 15 and (16), (17) on a punch 12 with die edges (20), (21) for shearing the longitudinal edges of the tabs, the leading edge 18 of the punch, which may be rounded, rupturing the sheet metal to form a sharp edge 4 on each tab. The tabs are set at an angle of 2-20 degrees with respect to each other or an angle of 91-100 degrees with respect to the plane of the sheet metal. The leading edge 18 of the punch may be angled to form edges 4 as shown in Fig. 11 and the tabs may be transversely curved. In the hinge shown in Fig. 11 the tabs are inclined relative to the longitudinal direction of hinge plates 2. Such hinges 1 and hinges 7 having plates 2 connected to a central hinge by flanges (6), Fig. 3 (not shown), at right angles to the plates 2 are secured to wood or plastics panels 9, 10 to form a collapsible container 8, by impaling the panels on the tabs. |
