<p>The load-handling grab is for use with cranes, forklift trucks etc., having two grab arms movable to and from each other in a frame with a load feeler. A linkage between the frame and the portion suspended from the crank hook etc. moves the arms together on lifting apart on lowering until the feeler strikes the load. The feeler (9,10) is so mounted in the frame that it can slide up and down in the latter, and a brake (B) is provided preventing such movement once the feeler is set in the desired position. The brake can be of the electromagnetic type. The vertical position of the feeler can be detected by a rotary transformer rotated by its movement, and emitting a signal.</p> |
