<p>1278626 Dihydrothienobenzothiepin derivative CIBA-GEIGY AG 19 June 1969 [20 June 1968 23 Dec 1968] 31158/69 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein R is C 1-6 alkyl and n is 2 or 3, and their addition salts with inorganic or organic acids. These compounds are prepared by reacting together the corresponding (1) piperazinodihydrothienobenzothiepin with a reactive ester (e.g. the chloride) of the 3-alkyl-2-oxoimidazolidinl-ylalkanol, or (2) a reactive ester (e.g. the methanesulphonate) of the dihydrothienobenzothiepinol with a 3-alkyl-2-oxo. 1-(piperazinoalkyl) imidazolidine (which is derived from the 3 - alkyl - 2 - oxo - 1 - (4 - carbethoxypiperazino) imidazolidine). 3 - n - Hexyloxazolidin - 2 - one (starting material) is prepared from 2-nhexylaminoethanol, Et 2 CO 3 and Na. Therapeutic compositions for oral, rectal or parenteral administration comprise compounds of the above formula which are CNS depressants, tranquillizers, antihistaminics, sympathicolytics, antiemetics and hypothermics, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier.</p> |
