The self-locking screw has a contact face arranged unsymmetrically about its longitudinal axis. This contact face under the head of the screw exerts locally high friction moments. The self locking forces are very high, but the workpiece surface clamped is not affected by damaging notch effects. The contact face (4, 5) is provided with teeth (7, 8) for increasing the releasing torque. The teeth are arranged relative to the contact surface (4) so that on tightening, the teeth (7, 8) contact the workpiece surface only after or simultaneously with the contact face (4) under the screw head. A number of axially-displaced contact faces are provided with radial grooves for dividing the surface into zones.
|
