A cable containing two spaced apart conductive strips which are brought in contact by pressure on the outside, is used for control circuits for doors, ramps, protective grids etc. The two conductors are strip conductors (1, 2) coated on one side with an insulating foil (3, 4) extending beyond the strip sides. Their widths are different, and are housed inside a hose-like structure so that they enclose a sickle-shaped space. They are placed in a resilient switching tube of e.g. rubber. In one design, the resilient tube may be of a cross section which has a flat base, and grooved, for securing to a surface.
