A personnel control lock comprises a cabin permitting the passage of one person only. This cabin is mounted as a structural unit inside a square frame or chamber and the two opposite openings are closed by doors. The bottom of the cabin serves as a contact plate for a weighing machine. The ceiling is pref. equipped with a lamp and a ventilation device. Each of the doors is pref. a two-leaf sliding door of steel plate, armoured glass or similar strong material, and may be bullet-proof. Pref. the hollow side walls between the cabin itself and the surrounding frame or chamber contain a television camera, a reading device with numerical code for magnetic or punch cards, a two-way speaking system, and/or magnetic, electronic or X-ray search equipment. The outer walls of the surrounding frame or chamber may be of steel plate or precast concrete components. The entire appts. is pref. connected to the electrical supply grid and optionally also to an emergency supply. Used for nuclear reactor plants or in the radiochemical industry and for any kine of personnel control application such as in buildings, institutions, public authorities and private firms premises, or on construction sites.
