<p>The elastic chamber, especially for bus doors, for safety while on the move, provides a hermetic seal between a fixed and a movable part, using a fluid medium subjected to pressure. This involves a distributor cock and an aperture, for introduction of the compressed medium into the chamber. The chamber is fitted with a strip of elastic material. This engages in a cutout on the door and completely fills it when it is sited in the face of the chamber. There may be a chamber independently fitted to the fixed part, with an expanding piece engaging in a cutout on the moving part. It can be operated with pneumatically powered devices.</p> |
