Colour TV picture tube with three-phosphor screen - reproduces colours by mixing primary colours produced by adjacent phosphor zones

The tube has at least one electron gun and devices for the electron beam adjustment to the primary colour luminophore zones. A cathode luminescent layer (22) is provided on the inner surface of the screen plate (16). Beam convergence device are connected to the front plate (16), so that when a certain primary colour video signal sweeps over the screen plate, emitted collimated radiation from the cathode luminescent layer (22) is directed to the specified primary colour zone on the outer surface of the screen plate (16). At least two further primary colour emitting organic phosphors (28, 30) are provided on the screen (16) outer surface. They have absorption bands which overlap with the emission of the cathode luminescent layer (22).
