Photographic, light-sensitive material comprises a carrier on which is applied except at its edge a non exposed layer of silver halide emulsion. Advantageously, the carrier is circular or square and may be formed from a transparent film or plate provided with a thin layer of a metal, semi-metal or metal oxide. In particular the emulsion layer is applied by a spin-coating technique. An emulsion coating of uniform and adequate thickness can be produced without the presence of thickened edge zones, flocculant material adhering to the underside, etc.
