<p>A continuously formed thermoplastic resin tube of predetermined wall thinness is cut into predetermined lengths by shears or hot wires, each of which are lowered and suspended in a multipart blow mould and thereafter bent upwards by a dish-shaped pneumatically operated mould section as this closes off the blow mould and pinches off and seals the ends of the tube section, and finally the pre-form tube bend is expanded by compressed air against all the inner walls of the blow mould and after cooling the solidified pipe bend is released by opening the mould. This process is used to produce pipes for e.g. wash basins and is rapid with minimal material wastage.</p> |
