PURPOSE:To realize high return loss and good operability by covering the other end side of a small optical fiber piece and a transparent pipe with a hood whose internal surface is coated with a light absorber. CONSTITUTION:Light guided in an optical fiber connected to the optical fiber terminator through a connector is inputted to one end of the small optical fiber piece 1 and guided out of the other end side. The light which is guided out is made incident on the light absorber 8 coating the internal surface of the hood and absorbed. When the internal surface of the hood is finely roughened and then coated with the light absorber 8, the possibility that intense reflected light is generated in a specific direction is reduced and the absorption area increases. Further, a porous layer is formed of the light absorber 8 and then the absorption area increases more. Consequently, a stable function is displayed regardless of the state of an external field and the operability is good. |
