PURPOSE:To decide an ID card whose using life has been expired by providing this ID deciding device with a control means for informing a failure in the accurate reading of an ID number when the failure is generated. CONSTITUTION:A reader head 1a and a display means consisting of an OK lamp 1b to be turned on when entrance/exit to/from a room is OK and an NG lamp 1b to be turned on when the entrance/exit is negative are fixed to the surface of a card reader 1. At the time of entrance, whether the ID number of an ID card can be read out as an ID number or not is decided by the reader head 1a of the card reader 1. When the ID number can not be read out, the NG lamp 1c is controlled so as to be temporarily turned on and off to inform the rejection of entrance to an ID card owner intending to enter. Thereby, the owner can detect the ID number can not be read out and know the using life of the ID card itself has been expired. |
