摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the torque variation by providing a viscous fluid coupling which controls the transmission torque to a supercharger in response to the engine speed. CONSTITUTION:When the engine speed is a predetermined value or less, the centrifugal force applied to a valve plate 51 is small, and the valve plate 51 closes a return hole 40 by means of the energizing force of a spring 52. The viscous fluid is fed to a storage chamber 39 from an operation chamber by action of a pump lug P. The fluid between labyrinths L is decreased, the rotation of an output shaft 33 against the input rotating speed of a coupling 30 nears to zero and it is kept in an OFF status, and a supercharger 10 is in a non- operational status until the engine speed reaches a predetermined value. When the engine speed reaches a predetermined value or more, the centrifugal force applied to the valve plate 51 becomes a predetermined value or more, and the valve plate 51 opens the return hole 40 against the energizing force of the spring 52. The viscous fluid is fed to the operation chamber 38 from the storage chamber 39 through the return hole 40, the fluid is filled between the labyringhs L, the torque transmission force of the coupling is increased, the rotating speed of the output shaft 33 is increased, and it is kept in an ON status.
