PURPOSE: To provide an optical repeater for making narrow the re-formation amplification of light pulses and its light spectrum. CONSTITUTION: An optical repeater has an optical amplifying fiber 5 and a directional coupler means 3. An input pulse 1 is reflected, depending on the spectrum details of the pulse 1 by each lattice 7, that is written into the optical fiber 5. Therefore, an output pulse 8 is subjected to re-formation amplification, thus becoming a narrow band in terms of spectrum. The lattices 7 have different intervals, thus obtaining output pulses with specific features. |
