1296898 L-Dopa FUJI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 20 Nov 1970 [27 Nov 1969] 55291/70 Heading C2C A process for the preparation of #-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-alpha-alanine comprises treating a solution of racemic 3 - (3,4 - methylenedioxyphenyl) - N - acetylalanine or racemic 3 - (3,4 - dimethoxyphenyl) - N - acetylalanine in a C 1-4 aliphatic alcohol with, as resolving agent, d-ephedrine, allowing the novel compounds d - 3 - (3,4 - methylenedioxyphenyl)- N - acetylalanine - d - ephedrine or d - 3 - (3,4 - dimethoxyphenyl) - N - acetylalanine - d - ephedrine to crystallize out, separating the crystals and removing d-ephedrine from them to provide d - 3 - (3,4 - methylenedioxyphenyl) - N - acetylalanine or d-3- (3,4-dimethoxyphenyl) -N-acetylalanine, and hydrolysing the d-3-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl) - N - acetylalanine or d - 3 - (3,4- dimethoxyphenyl) - N - acetylalanine to # - 3- (3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-alpha-alanine. |
