PURPOSE:To provide an aqueous pigment solution, dyeing kit, and method for dyeing proteins by which a protein supported by a polyacrylamide gel can be easily and sensibly dyed in a short time so that the protein can be visually confirmed. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing bovine serum, ovalbumin, and lactoalbumin and having weight of 10-1,000ng is subjected to electrophoresis by using a crosslinked polyacrylamide gel-containing sodium dodecyl sulfate. Then, a protein is dyed by dipping the gel subjected to the electrophoresis in an aqueous dye solution containing C.I., acid blue 83 (0.1% vol./wt.), ethanol (10% vol./wt.), acetic acid (10% vol./wt.), and potassium chloride salt (2% vol./ wt.) and shaking the gel for 20 minutes. After dyeing, the pigment on the surface of the gel is washed away in flowing water and the electrophoresis image of the protein is observed. In addition, after the gel is further subjected to shaking and decolorizing for 10 minutes in hot water of 60 deg.C, the electrophoresis image of the protein is observed. |
