A machine for the resistance welding of tubes (1)comprises a body (2) introduced to the inside of the tubes (1) to be welded and on which are rigidly mounted two support discs (3, 4), a mechanism (5) to fuse and compress the tubes with a mounting (7) for a hydraulic control (6) that can displace it along the body (2) and two mechanisms (9, 10) for clamping the tubes (1) to be welded with mountings (12, 13) with autonomous hydraulic controls (11) to displace them along the axis of the body (2). Two-armed levers (24), resting on the axis of the body (2) and able to pivot in a radial sense, are fixed to the outer surface of each mounting (12, 13) of the clamping mechanisms (9, 10). Each two-armed lever (24) is fixed so that it pushes to cooperate at its side (26) with rigid stops (27, 31) arranged on the support disc (3) and the mounting (7) of the clamping mechanisms (9, 10) and by its opposite side (28) with a spring stop (29) in the mountings (12, 13) of each clamping mechanism (9, 10) whilst the opposite end of each two-armed lever (24) carries a centring roller (25) that cooperates with the inner surface of the tubes (1) to be welded.
