PURPOSE: To provide a developing device in which toner leakage between a blade and an end seal is prevented. CONSTITUTION: In this developing device having a cylindrical developing sleeve 14, a plate-like blade 3 in contact with the developing sleeve 14, a blade base 4 supporting the blade 3 and the end seal 2 provided at both ends of the developing sleeve 14, contact pressure with the blade 3 at a non-image area at both ends of the developing sleeve 14 is set to be higher than the contact pressure at an image area. Thus, the width K of a contact part (nip part) 23 between the blade 3 and the developing sleeve 14 becomes wider toward the end part of the blade 3, so that the toner leakage between the blade 3 and the end seal 2 is prevented. |
