1,267,685. Insolubilized enzymes. UNILEVER Ltd. 31 July, 1969 [2 Aug., 1968], No. 38415/69. Heading C3H. An enzymatically active preparation comprises a silica hydrogel containing at least 10% water by weight of the silica in which an enzyme is entrapped. In examples, acetylcholinesterase, trypsin, alkaline phosphatase, lipoxidase, prostaglandin synthesizing enzyme, urease, catalase and preparations from Penicillium roquefortii, or Cladosporium butyrii are insolubilized. The enzyme solution may be added to a silica sol which is then gelled by adjusting the pH. |
