(A) 1, 2, 5-Benzotriazepines - (I) where R = hydrogen, alkyl (1-6C), aryl or aralkyl (up to 8 C), or cycloalkyl (up to 7 C). - R' = hydrogen, free or esterified carboxyl (esterified with alkyl group up to 4 C atoms), cyano, or -S-X (where X = alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, carbalkoxyalkyl, carboxyalkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl or alkyleneaminoalkyl) or (where Z1 = hydrogen, alkyl, carbalkoxy or acyl, and Z2 = hydrogen, alkyl) or -CO-Y (where Y=opt. substd. guanidino, amino or hydrazino-radical), or halogen. - R" = hydrogen, hydroxyl, methoxy, nitro, carboxyl esterified with aliphatic alcohol containing 1-3 C), halogen, or trifluoromethyl group, - (B) Acid addition salts of (I). - (C) (II) where R"' = cyano - (D) Intermediate diazonium salts - where A = anion - CNS depressants, behaving as antipyretics, anti-convulsives, sedatives, analgesics and tranquillisers.
