PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler capable of impressively producing the rear appearance of a vehicle body and excellent in function. SOLUTION: A pipe 2 extended from a silencer 1 is raised from the lower part of the vehicle body B and bent backward through a ceiling t, and a shielding plate 3 is provided so as to be slightly separated from the rear end opening surface thereof. The pipe 2 protruded to the upper part of the body B and turned backward dynamically and impressively accentuates the rear appearance of the body B. Further, the exhaust gas is prevented from staying near the ground surface and collided to the shielding plate and diffused, and the environment can be thus improved.
