The process superimposes the intensified effect of thermal-molecular stresses caused by an upwards temp. gradient from the end of the mould to its mouth, which when applied co-directional with the centrifugal forces sets up a tornado-like suction effect. In the prefd. version intensification is caused by a constriction in the combined mouth-riser system of the mould. The process yields high quality castings of fine grain size and excellent finish.
