PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ID card renewing device and ID card renewing method capable of reducing the loads of an applicant for renewal and a person in charge receiving the application for renewal and performing a reliable renewing business. SOLUTION: This ID card renewing device 11 comprises an IC card reader 12 for reading personal data such as the address, name, face picture, etc., of the applicant and the fingerprint of the applicant from an old ID card before renewal; a fingerprint reader 14 for directly acquiring the fingerprint from the applicant; a data display input device 16 for displaying the personal data and fingerprint read from the ID card and the fingerprint directly acquired from the applicant; and an IC card writer 18 storing the read data through the ID card reader 12 after the confirmation and collation the data displayed through the data display input device 16 by an operator and forming and issuing a new ID card. |
