<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular stop assisting device, which ensures a suitable inter-vehicle distance from an obstacle and carries out stop assistance for stopping a vehicle concerned, when traveling resistance is different from flat road traveling resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular stop assisting device is equipped with a stop assist controlling means which carries out stop assist control for informing a driver that a position is a suitable for stopping, when a distance to an obstacle in a traveling direction of the vehicle concerned becomes not more than a predetermined value. The vehicular stop assisting device is provided with a traveling resistance detecting means for detecting the traveling resistance of the vehicle concerned. The stop assist controlling means changes a distance threshold value to the obstacle in the traveling direction of the vehicle concerned starting the stop assist control to be a larger value as a traveling resistance detecting value is separated from the flat road traveling resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
