A device for supporting and centering optical components comprises two supports S 1 and S 2 carried by two arms B 1 and B 2 adapted to slide in a frame C and situated opposite one another at a regulatable distance according to the length of optical component (not shown), the first support S 1 consisting of two concentric rings 1, 2 arranged as a universal joint and the second support S 2 consisting of a floating ring 4 co-operating with two shanks 5 and 6 fast with micrometer screws 7 and 8 which can be displaced in translational movement in two non-parallel directions. The optical component is locked in position by means of a screw 3 in the central ring 2 and by means of an element 10 such as a screw in ring 4. The ring 4 is pressed by spring 9 against friction shoes 11, 12 or ball bearings on the end of shanks 5, 6. The frame C can slide in direction Y on a support E which itself slides on a base D in direction Z, the base D being also capable of pivotal movement about a pivot pin 13. |
