Multifilament threads are crimped in a suffing box provided with feed rollers and a winding device by introducing a number of threads parallel to each other in the nip of the feed rollers for folding over and crimping against a mass of previously crimped filament in the stuffing box. Consequently, crimped fibres produce individual cores in the crimping device. The cores move forward together in the stuffing box to an outlet. The crimped filaments are extracted from the cores at the outlet and the crimped threads are combined and wound together on a winding device to form a yarn in which the threads can easily be identified. Specifically, the threads are of polyester.
