PURPOSE: To produce a composite material capable of well exhibiting the characteristics of the dispersed material and the matrix material without deteriorating mechanical characteristics. CONSTITUTION: This composite material consists of a matrix material, a reinforcing layer made of a substance similar to the matrix material and continuously dispersed in the matrix material in a three-dimensional network state and a dispersed material discontinuously dispersed in the reinforcing layer. The reinforcing layer tightly bonds the matrix material together and tightly holds the dispersed material. The dispersed material is discontinuously dispersed in this composite material in a three-dimensional network state.
