PURPOSE:To prevent dust from adhering to an electric discharge member by constituting the titled device so that an electric field is formed between grid lines of an electrifying device. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted so that a corona discharge is generated by applying a high voltage to a discharge wire 2 whose three sides have been surrounded by a shield member 1, and a body to be electrified is electrified, and also a grid electrode 4 formed by placing in parallel plural pieces of grid lines 3 (3a, 3b) is provided between the wire 2 and the body to be electrified. In this state, when, for instance, the corona discharge of + polarity is executed from the wire 2, the grid line 3b which has been connected to a varistor 5 is charged up to the potential corresponding to a varistor voltage. Accordingly, an electric field going toward the grid line 3a which has been connected to the earth, from the grid line 3b which has been connected to the varistor 5 is generated between each of the grid lines 3, as indicated with an arrow. Therefore, the electric field is formed in the direction for connecting the respective grid lines 3, operated as an electric field curtain with respect to dust floating in the periphery of an electrifying device, and it is prevented that dust adheres to the wire 2. |
