The invention relates to means for dying or coloring keratin fibers, specially human hair, which contain a compound of formula (I) as a direct dye, wherein R<1> stands for a C1-4-alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group or a C5-7-cycloalkyl group, and R<2> and R<3> mean independently or in combination hydrogen, a C1-4-monohydroxyalkyl group, a C2-4-dihydroxyalkyl group, a C3-4-trihydroxyalkyl group or an amino C1-4 alkyl group, with the proviso that R<2> and R<3> are not simultaneously hydrogen, or a physiologically acceptable salt of this compound. Said products enable brilliant colorings with excellent fastness.
