PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the head side of a pantile from floating due to freezing of snow entered between tiles adjoined vertically by providing a fixing means in the head side of the pantiles upward a metal fitting body. SOLUTION: This snow guard metal fitting is constituted by providing a fixing means for an upper pantile W to a metal fitting body. The metal fitting body is provided with a snow guard rail 5 upward than the bottom end of a base plate 4 long in the flow direction of a roof positioned upward a tile W to be installed, a suspension plate 6 is formed in the upper end, and a fixing plate 7 is provided outward the bottom end of the plate 6. The fixing means is formed with an erecting member 13 from the edge in the plate 6 side of a fixing member 12, and a presser member 14 is provided toward the plate 6 side than its upper end to be formed into Z cross section. In constructing, the plate 6 is made to abut on the rear side end face of the tile W, the plate 7 is nailed to a substrate X, and the head side of the tile W to be laid is inserted between the presser member 14 and the plate 4. This constitution can prevent the upper tile from floating, even if snow or moisture entered in a clearance between the upper and lower tiles is frozen and expanded and prevent the tile from blown away by a strong wind.
