PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the whole of a device, and effectively damp the vibration of a chain. SOLUTION: This chain and tensioner system has a rotary drive type tensioner 18 and a first and a second tensioner arms 20 and 22 connected to the tensioner 18. The rotary drive type tensioner 18 has an annular main body 56 and a rotary main body 32 provided freely to turn around a pivotal support point at a central part inside the annular main body 56 and connected to an external pressurized fluid source through a flow passage 92. Each tensioner arm 20 and 22 is connected to the rotary main body 32 through fixing pins 36 and 38. A coil spring 98 for rotating the rotary main body 32 and a hydraulic chamber 88 are provided in the rotary drive type tensioner 18.
