PURPOSE: To facilitate changing between one side printing and both sides printing, phase changing, and increasing the number of printing units by designing in such a manner that each printing unit has a separate gear train decoupled from the preceding or subsequent printing unit, and each gear train is engaged via an intermediate gear with an impression cylinder or drum gear so that torque is equally distributed over each printing unit. CONSTITUTION: Each printing unit 1 to 6 is a separate compact gear train that is engaged with the preceding or subsequent printing unit via an intermediate gear. A drive transfer device 10, which is branched from a drive shaft 9 of each printing unit, is engaged with an intermediate gear 15 at the unit 1 and is engaged directly with a transfer or turning drum gear 13 of the separate compact gear train at the subsequent units 2 to 6. The separate compact gear train, which is decoupled from the preceding or subsequent printing unit, is composed from the gear 13, the intermediate gears 15 to 17, and an impression cylinder 12. When the turning drum is used instead of the transfer drum, an E-clutch 11 is used, and when to change from one side printing to both sides printing, the shaft 9 is decoupled. |
