摘要 <p>Heat-developable diazotype material has a sensitive part contg. a base-generating material (I) acting as precursor of an activator for the coupling reaction giving a coloured trace from a diazonium salt and a coupling agent. The (I) has an acid part consisting of a carboxy-2 carboxamide gp., and a basic part consisting of a mixt. of basic cations comprising a non-protonated alkali(ne earth) or quat. tetraalkylammonium cation, and a protonated cation. Pref. (I) is of formula (I) in whichR1-4are H, halogen, (halo)alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, OH, carbamoyl or carboxamide; the gps. R1 and/or R2 may form with the gps. R3 and/or R4 a valency bond and/or a divalent gp. making with the two C atoms to which the gps. R1 (or R2) and R3 (or R4) are attached, a gp (L) which may opt. carry another carboxy-2 carboxamide gp. the gp (L) being cyclic or polycyclic or which may be comprised of an assembly of several cyclic gps. bonded together by valency bonds, a heteroatom, a methylene or carboxyl gp.; r=1 or 2; p=1 or 2 and is the valency of R; R is a valency bond or (a) H, CONHR5, CSNHR5, with R5= H or alkyl; an (un)saturated (cyclo)aliphatic hydrocarbon gp; an aromatic radical; any being opt. substd. ; or (b) divalent (cyclo)alkylene, phenylene or a combination bound together by a heteroatom or -NR5- in which R5 is H or alkyl; B is a mixed basic component with a total charge q such that the overall charge of (I) is zero, B being of a non-protonated alkali(ne ) or quat. tetraalkylammonium cation M1 with a charge q1, and a protonated nitrogen cation M2 with a charge q2 such that q=n1q1+n2q2, and in which n1 and n2 are not zero and represent the number of cations 151andM2. Use of the base generator activator precursors (I) gives diazotype materials with good storage stability, high sensitivity, rapid development at elevated temps. temps.</p>
