PURPOSE:To prevent discoloration of a molded item by mixing a photo-curable and radical-curable resin with a photo-polymn. initiator. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. for gel coat is obtd. by mixing a photo-curable and radical-curable resin (e.g., polyester resin) and a photo-polymn. initiator (e.g., 2-hydroxy-2methyl-1-phenylpropan-1-one). After a mold is coated with said compsn. and the gel coat is cured to a required hardness by irradiating it with light, if necessary, it is backed with a glass fiber. Then, a resin selected from among unsatd. polyesters having (meth)acryloyl groups on the polymer side chains through a urethane or ester bond and an MW of 5,000 or higher is cast thereon up to a required thickness and cured by heating. |
