High strength lightweight component uses a cut off hollow profile with uneven wall thickness and rb-shaped reinforcement which increases the section modulus. Electroforming is used to make a monolithic component with an electroforming template which includes a core with sharp edges; the sharp edges correspond with the thickened reinforcement required round the hollow profile. The component is pref. made of electrodeposited nickel. The prod. is inexpensive.
