The invention concerns a method and apparatus for separating, folding and applying sticky labels from a tape. According to the invention, tape is fed from a dispenser (2) containing a storage roller of tape, onto a mechanism that can be opened and consisting of two endless belts ((12, 15) in contact with each other. A predetermined length of tape is fed onto the transfer mechanism and retained on this by suction. The transfer mechanism (12, 15) is then closed with the labels, held by suction, in such a way that an end with a clear sticky bit sticks out. The moving belt (15) inside the transfer mechanism is moved back to its start position and holds the folded label by suction. The labels are brought forward thereafter by a mobile, suction-driven application device (23,24,25), whereby the application device, while holding the label, is put on an object e.g. a code mark, a newspaper etc. and pressed down with the label's sticky side against the object.<IMAGE> |
