A method for the manufacture of the border of a knitted article on circular knitting machines is provided as well as the resulting article. The border is manufactured with the needles of the machine. The first needles are selected to initially hold back the respective stitches. The remaining needles, alternated with the first ones, knit until the border is finished. The first needles are then returned to knitting for the subsequent manufacture of the article with the participation of all the needles. <IMAGE> |
